This 3m IR receiver to 3.5mm TRS cable is primarily for use with our IR Repeater Kit as an additional or replacement cable for the one that’s included with that product.
It can be used in any IR extension system however, as long as that system runs on 12V and uses the same wiring configuration, see below.
The 3.5mm TRS connector on this product is wired in the following way:
- Tip: Signal (White Wire)
- Ring: Ground (Red Wire)
- Sleeve: +12V DC (Black Wire)
The IR receiver is capable of receiving infrared signals from 30KHz up to 60KHz. This includes support for Foxtel’s iQ 2 and iQ 3 remote controllers.
