DisplayPort to HDMI made easy – pocket size!

By now, we all have at least one HDMI cable sitting around not doing anything, so it makes sense to save money where possible by re-using those down-trodden components as situations such as this arise: you have a new DisplayPort source device, but you’re stuck with a HDMI input on your display. Never fear! Cable Chick is here! And I’ve brought along a compact little type changer plug which is a one-way ticket from DisplayPort (male) to HDMI v1.3 (female). Audio support is included if your source device outputs it.

This adapter can easily output HDMI signals at 1080p and is a simple solution for converting DisplayPort signals to HDMI v1.3. The adapter also supports HDCP version 1.2 for HDMI and DPCP (DisplayPort Content Protection) for all your protected media viewing. Please note this is a passive adapter and requires HDMI-compliant DisplayPort output function. Check yourdevice’s manual or look for the D++ icon to know for sure. **NOTE: This adapter is not bi-directional, and does not convert HDMI to DisplayPort**.

DisplayPort Compatibility Note

DisplayPort (DP) cables and adapters are not bi-directional, and require a DP output which is DP++ (Dual Mode) compatible. When a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter/cable is connected to a DP++ (Dual-Mode) output, the output device senses the presence of the adaptor/cable and sends HDMI signals over the DisplayPort connector rather than DisplayPort signals. No signal conversion is performed by the adapter/cable. HDMI signals are merely passed through.
