Need a lightweight keyboard to use with your Media PC when you’re on the couch? How about a portable ‘board you can pair with your iPad or Android Smartphone? What about just a backup in case your primary deck chucks a wobbly? This robust option can do it all, and with the long-term typing comfort of a 98% scale – that’s the same full-size offering you’d expect from a 15″ laptop!

Construction is good; the rapid-response chicklet keyboard has short travel and soft click to know when you’ve hit home. These full size keys are set into an all-plastic frame painted to look like the expensive brand-name versions. But at only 300 grams, you don’t have to lug around the extra weight of an aluminium ingot. Requires 2 x AAA batteries (not included) and can operate for hours and hours.

Bluetooth pairing works for most devices capable of taking a keyboard input, which includes PC, Mac, iOS, Android and more. Sorry – this won’t help much if you pair it with your car! Once joined, you can type away to your hearts’ content. If anything, I’m a little wary of the longevity of the printed letters on the keys, but there’s definitely enough quality here for regular light typing to keep you going to a long time.
