A coaxial crimper that any professional would love to get their hands on!
A couple of years ago I decided to mount my TV on the wall. Sounds like fun so far, I’m having a great time and everything is going great. As I had decided to mount it on a different wall to where the antenna outlets were all I had to do was simply route new cabling through the walls, an easy enough job but it can occasionally get a little interesting. Well this time it goes absolutely perfectly, right up to the point where I need to attach new connectors to my coax cable.
You see where I’m going with this, I left my crimper, which by the way is no where near as sexy as this beast, in my other tool box, a 2 hour round trip away. What followed was a not so delightful afternoon slicing open coax cables (and the occasional finger) with my stanley knife and trying to crimp connectors using a hammer and a pair of pliers.
My point is, if I had this bad boy back then, I would have never let it leave my sight! It features positions for crimping both the shield and the pin to the connector, a ratchet design for the perfect connection every time and a precision hardened steel die. The following dies are available:
- A/F Hex: 8.2mm for RG6
- A/F Hex: 6.5mm for RG59/62
